Nacho Rodriguez, a 27-year old animator out of Barcelona, the #1 winner of Flash Animation 10: Best Animated, have put up his first Mr Coo game: El Laberinto Esférico.
I always like this type of 'choose your own adventure' game :D And this is just a perfect example of it ! With just a simple click and there, with a little bit of mini game inside, and multiple endings ! And not just that, look at the artwork ! It's awesome :D
You will be taken to a labyrinth where Mr. Coo falls to his death, and so the adventure begin :D Simply click and play ;) Once you've beaten a path, click play again. You must complete all paths to get the real ending ;)
Have fun ^_^ and choose your own way at the El Laberinto Esférico ;)
Oh, if you're curious of Mr. Coo's winning Flash Animation, here you go :)

Beethoven's Hair
Wednesday, September 19, 2007On March 26th, 1827 Ludwig Van Beethoven died in Vienna. The day after, a twelve year old boy cut a lock of his hair as a souvenir.
167 years later the hair was sold at an auction in London. Its new owners were two Americans, Ira Brilliant and Che Guevara.
Between those dates the lock of hair undertook an extraordinary historical odyssey. From hand to hand, from country to country, and from century to century.
This is the story of that journey.
This beautiful and yet creepy (yes, it's a bit creepy) is based on the film Beethoven's Hair itself, which is inspired by the best-selling book by Russel Martin.
Take part in Beethoven's Hair journey throughout the world with a marvelous game.
You take part as a butterfly, simply move around your mouse, and press up or down key, to fly higher or lower ;)
The website and the game were all Flash-based perfectly done by XENOPHILE MEDIA. This is the kind of Flash work that always make me amazed ! Beautiful and perfect !

Ayiti: The Cost of Life
Saturday, June 02, 2007Welcome to Ayiti: The Cost of Life, a beautiful flash-games brought to you by Global Kids.
Founded in 1989 and an independent not-for-profit organization since 1993, Global Kids' mission is to transform urban youth into successful students and global and community leaders by engaging them in socially dynamic, content-rich learning experiences.

The background of this game is to reminds us of Human Right to Education.
Every woman, man, youth, and child has the right to an education.
In a world where 1.2 billion people live on less than $1 per day, education is perhaps the most powerful instrument for reducing poverty and inequality, improving health and social well being, and laying the groundwork for sustained economic growth.

Education is essential for building democratic societies and dynamic, globally competitive economies where all people have equal opportunities and are able to realize their basic human rights.

The situation in the game, took place in Haiti. Some of Haitians are still having difficulties to achieve education. There are four primary obstacles preventing Haitian students from receiving the education that is their right.
1) The inability to physically reach a classroom.
2) The inability to pay school fees.
3) Inadequate school facilities and resources.
4) Poorly educated parents.
Ayiti: The Cost of Life is designed to be played by young people on their own. However, educators can use the game within their program to address a variety of issues, such as the importance of education, the impact of poverty, or life in Haiti.
We must all recognize the importance of free, basic education if millions of children are to be equipped with the tools and skills they need to rise out of poverty and become self-reliant, productive members of society.
So, hopefully with this beautiful games, you can grasp the importance of education. And to all of us who can get to be educated, we should all give thanks for it ;)
Have a nice weekend everybody ^^
p.s: all the above text are taken from the game ;)

Piano Hero
Thursday, January 25, 2007Have you ever wanted to play any MIDI song with "Guitar Hero"-like falling notes ?!
Well, then Nicholas Piegdon from Halite Studios has a nice "Piano Hero" for us ;)
Here's what he have for us :)
* Learn to play music on your real keyboard.
* Inspired by Harmonix's innovative Guitar Hero gameplay.
* Supports any MIDI file.
* Practice left or right handed parts separately.
* Slow songs down while learning new parts.
* Open Source (MIT License).
And the interface looks promising too ^^
After you select a MIDI file to play (if you dont have one then Nicholas have some suggestion on where to find it ^^) you can choose on which instrument you wanna play ;) you can play all of it, if you think you're a HERO ;)
On each instrument there's a button to play, for checking the notes that will be played, so you can choose wether you wanna play it manually, or have 'em played automatically :)
After that, prepare your finger :) and hit it boyz and gurlz :D
Oh, yes, of course you need a MIDI input for playing this ;)
