In the meantime, I'm preparing my post about things i do in Bali :) so, wait for it next week ;) since i will not have much time to get my hands on the internet :P lotsa things to prepare for :)

Polar Clock

Monday, April 23, 2007

Pixelbreaker made a beautifull clock called Polar Clock. I'm stunned by the beautifull concept of a clock, not the same old boring analog or digital clock ! It was simply just beautiful !

And so, i searched for this Polar Clock terms, and i just knew it today, the definition of Polar Clock :P

a tube, containing a polarizing apparatus, turning on an axis parallel to that of the earth, and indicating the hour of the day on an hour circle, by being turned toward the plane of maximum polarization of the light of the sky, which is always 90° from the sun.

When the first version came out, the author released a screensaver version for it ! But a pity that it was only for Mac :P

But recently, due to the overwhelming request :P the author decided to made a PC version for the screensaver ;) isn't that sweet ^^

Guess what ? I'm using it as a screensaver now :P replacing that old pipes runnin round my screen :P

Twingly - Experience The True Blogosphere

Wednesday, April 18, 2007

Twingly screensaver is visualizing the global blog activity in real time. Forget RSS readers where you see only what you're interested in. With Twingly screensaver you get a 24/7 stream of all (viewer discretion advised) blog activity, straight to your screen.

This screensaver uses the OpenGL to render the images, while the core algorithm itself are using .NET framework, so guess this was for Windows only ;)

This Twingly does not have to be a screensaver, you can run it directly, and just watch the blogosphere :) It'll lists all the post that were bein made all around the world :) with all the asian and european languages (if you installed those fonts) ^^

The screensaver's file size is 2.09MB, lite enough for you to download ;)

Color in Motion

Monday, April 16, 2007

Color in Motion is a beautiful flash by Claudia Cortes, that'll give us a basic knowledge of colors, including the personality of the color, the assosiation with real world, the attribute, and lots of other useful informations :)

This work was made as a Thesis for the Master of Fine Arts in Computer Graphics Design at Rochester Institute of Technology, 2003. And i just found this out 4 years later :P But still, it's worth learning ;)

The whole presentation are divided in 3 sections, which you can choose and have fun with :) Those are The Stars, The Movies, and The Lab

Each sections gives us a whole new way of understanding colors ;) by watching the movies, or by reading the personal attribute of the colors, even by taking a quiz, you can measure how much you understand the colors ;)

So, watch and learn ^^

Freeware: Font Xplorer 1.2.2

Friday, April 13, 2007

Sometimes when i'm doin something that involve fancy fonts, weird fonts, elegant fonts, either in photoshop or flash, i often waste my time by trying out the fonts, ONE-BY-ONE.

But with this Font Xplorer, i can list all the fonts that were installed, or the one which i just downloaded and about to install ;)

Font Xplorer

This handy freeware, works with TrueType and OpenType fonts only, which is decent enough for most of fonts, the limitation is that it can't handle Adobe Type 1 fonts, but well that's another story :P

Anyway, another easyness is to Instal and Uninstall fonts, if you're in Vista, after you downloaded some fonts, you can right-click and choose install :) but if you're on XP or 2000 or bellow, you hafta do it manually, by copying to the FONTS folder. By using this Font Xplorer, you can do the right-click too ;) Install or Uninstall :) EASY !

All these comes in free as in beer ;D So just go and get it ;)

The New Hardest Riddle On The Net

Wednesday, April 11, 2007

Antiriddle, claimed to be The New Hardest Riddle On The Net. Now, those line itself has made my spirit up. Is it so hard ? :D

The goal of the Antiriddle project is to not only entertain those who enjoy intellectual challenges, but also to teach a certain degree of computer literacy and to foster a sense of cooperation in solving an issue.

So, it seems that this is not limited only for geeks :P much similar to other riddle ;)

Another interesting things for this Antiriddle is that it accept submissions a.l.a The Antiriddle Content-Submission Competition ;)

And what's this submission do good for you ? Well, they said
The submitter that attracts the most visitors per month will receive $1 per 1000 visits (as much as the best web advertisers around!).

Interesting ^^

But then again, i prefer to beat this so called Hardest on the net ;D

And for some tips, this kinda thing that uses pictures have a meaning that you should pay some attention to the picture too ;) if you're stuck, there's a google search below, still stuck ? go to the forums :) still stuck again ? time to leave the riddle and come back again in the next 2 hours :D

Enjoy ^^

From The Nanoworld to The Universe !

Monday, April 09, 2007

We are able to view all entities, from the microworld to the universe, from a single perspective. By setting them up against a scale, we are able to compare and understand things which cannot be physically compared.

Today, using the electron microscope and astronomical telescope, we can see the objects which we have not been aware of its existence before. Are you able to fathom, or even roughly grasp, these sizes?

This is a beautiful project by Nikon from Japan. All information about the scale and size are made accurate, in a way we can figure it out instantly ^^ with the basic principle of Comparing ;)

We can estimate some range of scale and size just by comparing it with other object :) and Nikon brought this in real nice ! And (my favourite part) it was in Flash ! ^^

The interface are real nice ! Just point and click ! And you get all the information, with real size and scale, and the rendered image is good too :D

Surely this is a must have on your bookmark ;)

Fun + Science :) what could be more fun in learning science like this ? ;)

Flex + Blogger = fBlogger

Thursday, April 05, 2007

Continuing my previous post that mentioned fBlogger, here i gave you an update of fBlogger, this time i'll be continuing it using Flex ;)

So, until this point, here is where i've been :)

fBlogger

And for those who are curious, i got the data using php first, since Flash's SWF does not allowed to retrieve external data on cross-domain, this is due to the Flash's Sandbox policy (which is sucks :P)

Anyway, the data format that's been fetched using php is RSS, which is simple enough to parse in Flash, since it was an XML afterall :)

The link to post a comment will open in a new window, i'm planning to have it on the inside of the flash itself. But since i'm not very good at php, this might take a long time :P (have to learn about GET POST HTTP request etc. etc. in PHP).

So until then, enjoy the new fBlogger ^^

As usual, feedbacks are appreciated :D

Nothing is more relaxing than an orchestra music ^^ and collecting a new wallpapers of Zelda :D
